Parker Challenger

$30-80
Golden Age
Filling System Button filler
Nib Gold-plated steel
Material Celluloid

Parker’s mid-range pen during the Vacumatic era — more affordable than the flagship but still a quality writing instrument.1

Construction

The Challenger used a button-filling system with a gold-plated steel nib, making it significantly cheaper than the Vacumatic’s vacuum-fill with 14k gold nib.1 Available in celluloid in various colors.

Variants

The Challenger Deluxe featured upgraded trim and premium celluloid colors.1 Canadian production included Royal Blue variants.2 Depression-era pricing made the Challenger accessible to buyers who couldn’t afford a Vacumatic.
