What to Look For

World's smallest fountain pen at 42mm long. Eyedropper filler. Clipless versions (earlier) are scarcer. Slip cap with globe emblem and 'WATERMAN'S IDEAL FOUNTAIN PEN, N.Y.' imprint. Original brown leather casket box with white metal clasp. Also known as the 'Doll Pen' due to the apocryphal story that one rests in Queen Mary's doll house in Windsor Castle.

The world’s smallest fountain pen at just 42mm long. Produced as a salesman’s tool — Waterman salesmen visiting druggists and jewelers would offer to show them the ‘World’s Smallest Pen’ as a conversation starter to extend the interaction and increase chances of making a sale. Despite its tiny size, it’s a fully functional eyedropper-filler with a 14k gold nib. Extremely rare and highly collectible.
