Waterman 20
The Waterman Model 20 is the largest standard Waterman eyedropper — a giant pen with the massive #10 nib, the biggest Waterman ever produced.1
Construction
The #10 nib is the largest in Waterman’s range.1 The pen uses the standard cone-cap eyedropper design but at an imposing scale. Orange (cardinal red) hard rubber examples are exceptionally rare and command premium prices.2
Pricing (1919 Catalog)
The 1919 catalog lists the No. 20 at $10.00 in plain rubber — the most expensive plain pen in the standard line.1 This was equivalent to roughly $175 in today’s money, making it a luxury item even by 1919 standards.1
Rarity
The FPN database of Waterman 20 pens sold on eBay documents the scarcity and high prices these command at auction.3 Orange hard rubber examples are among the rarest Waterman eyedroppers.2 The collectionhero.com price guide lists Waterman #20 Giant pens including an orange hard rubber eyedropper from 1924.2
