What to Look For

Three generations: Expert I (1994, plastic body, large breather-hole nib, cap band with W only), Expert II (mid-1990s, brass body, conventional nib, full 'Waterman' on cap band), Expert III (2011, more metal in cap band, minimalist nib). Dunes finishes (2002-03) have sand-ring pattern. City Line (2007) has lacquer over engraving. Smart finishes (2007) have gold dust shimmer.
