What to Look For

Originally ballpoint/pencil only; fountain pen added c. 1997. Major redesign in 2011 (Gen II: larger body/section ring, narrower clip). Shimmery line (2007) has stippled lacquer. Starlight pens (2008) in palladium-plated finishes. Deluxe II has engraved wavy line cap.

History

Originally launched as a ballpoint and pencil only (1994); the fountain pen was added around 1997.1 A major redesign in 2011 (Generation II) brought a larger body, wider section ring, and narrower clip.1

Finishes

The Hemisphere has been produced in an extraordinary range of finishes across multiple generations:1

  • Generation I: Mars Black, China Green, Indian Blue, Garance Red, Matte Black, Stainless, marbled variants (discontinued 2007), metallic Blue/Green/Cognac
  • Shimmery Line (2007): stippled lacquer in Pink, Blue, Grey, Green1
  • Generation II (2011+): Essential finishes (White, Black, Matte Black, Stainless), Deluxe II with engraved wavy-line caps1
